3d Links Awakening Character update 13

::EDIT:: NEVERMIND I will be either using an edited version of the Wind Waker model (v3) or one that looks like Child Link from OoT, please ignore this model, I might use it as a basis for the villagers.

I am sorry to say but in my opinion this link looks horrible in all ways

if i remem correctly the version was actually pretty good

Thank you for your opinion, but could you be more specific? Is it mostly the texture you dislike? The model its self? Every bit of criticism helps me tweak Link until every one thinks he looks good.

both the texture and the model

it looks almost nothing like link

I see... Thank you, I was trying to make my Link stand out from the others, for v5 I will aim more for Child Link from Ocarina of Time

It's not bad, but I much prefer your WW-style Link. I think that'd be a nice twist to have on it, maybe some WW-esque touches elsewhere... like the wind streaks from WW? Just a thought.

Not to discourage you as I think this project and Helix sound and look really awesome and I can't wait to play them, but this version of Link doesn't really have any of the distinguishing features of Link apart from the clothing. I'd probably say borrowing the style from another Zelda game would look nice because it's something people are accustomed to already.

The main thing I don't like about v3/Wind Waker model is the head, I really don't think I did a good job with that, and I am a fan of Wind Waker/Phantom Hourglass. I'm going to hold off on working on Link until we get bone support in the engine, then I will either fix up the head on v3, or make v5 look more like the Link from OoT.

As for WW style wind blowing around, it is a feature I would like to have, but at the moment the engine doesn't support animated images (working on that) and we are focusing on optimization/performance (hence my increased quadrant output, we want to see how well the game runs with the entire map in) so we aren't going to worry about the wind until we get more important things done. (There are a lot of similar effects I want to put in, they have to wait as well)

I think link must be a smaller guy, because he´s a little kid in this story. And not such a long knife ^^
